Ion Selective

All of our ISE electrodes are available in many shapes and lengths to fit a wide variety of applications.

These Ion Selective Electrodes are designed to work with any modern pH/mV meter, ISE/concentration meter, or suitable on-line instrumentation.

Our ISE’s have several advantages over colorimetric, gravimetric, and other methods:

  • They can be used from 0.1 to 10,000 ppm.
  • The electrode bodies are shock-proof and chemically-resistant.
  • The electrodes, once calibrated, can monitor concentration continuously and analyze the sample within 1 to 2 minutes.
  • The electrodes can be placed directly into the sample without sample pretreatment or destruction of the sample.

Best of all, electrodes are inexpensive and great screening tools for identifying dissolved salts in samples.

 

CONDUCTIVITY

Von_London_Conductivity Van London pHoenix Co. manufactures all types and styles of conductivity electrodes, including laboratory, flow through, and industrial. Featured to the left is our toroidal, or "electrodeless" conductivity probe. The design of the electrodeless conductivity system eliminates any form of polarization, so accurate readings in all types of solutions are possible. Electrode contamination, which can lead to erroneous readings, is also not a problem. The C-PVC encapsulation prevents any solution to metallic contact, thereby eliminating the possibility of gas formations at the electrode surface, which can occur using the more conventional contacting type conductivity systems.
The steam sterilizable family of dissolved oxygen electrodes from the Van London-pHoenix Company is specifically designed for fermentation where it is necessary to subject electrodes to repeated steam sterilization. Dissolved oxygen electrodes are available in both polarographic and galvanic styles to fulfill all requirements. Van London pHoenix Co. O2 electrodes are compatible with most common O2 amplifiers found in fermentation.
Polarographic electrodes are designed to be used with Van London-pHoenix Company, Ingold IL, Cole-Parmer and Applikon O2 amplifiers, or with other amplifiers that are designed to be used with Ingold dissolved oxygen electrodes.
Galvanic electrodes are designed to be used with Van London-pHoenix Company, New Brunswick Scientific, LSL Biolafitte and Applikon O2 amplifiers.
The DO probes are available for laboratory fermentation where sterilization takes place in a separate autoclave or industrial applications where sterilization takes place in-situ. The easily replaced electrode membrane cartridge is a unique feature of the Van London pHoenix Co. polarographic and NBS galvanic dissolved oxygen electrodes. The membrane is of a special construction - a silicone and teglon composite, reinforced with stainless steel mesh. This unique membrane is very rugged and allows for repeated sterilization without damage, allowing ot to withstand severe conditions. The electrode operates without maintenance for 5 to 10 sterilizations, fermentation cycles or, in terms of time, for 6 to 8 weeks.
The Van London pHoenix Co. Biolafitte type galvanic dissolved oxygen electrode features easily replaceable FEP teflon membranes.
The polarographic dissolved oxygen electrodes are available with or without automatic temperature compensation. They are designed to match the Ingold IL oxygen amplifier. Temperature compensation is not normally required when calibration is made at the same temperature as the controlled fermentation temperature with no variation.
