Preso products include the innovative Ellipse® Pitot tube, the COIN® segmented wedge flow meter, and three unique versions of Venturi-type meters and inserts. With this family of products, Preso can provide a flow meter for any process that can be measured with differential pressure technology, often at calibrated accuracy of better than ±1% of reading.
 

Preso also manufactures the B-Plus® and C+ metering and balancing valves for the HVAC industry, as well as a line of FM-approved fire pump gages, and many other accessories including flow transmitters and test kits.

The PRESO ELLIPSE flow meter is designed with a series of ports facing the upstream velocity pressures and flow sensing ports strategically located ahead of the trailing-edge disturbances: As a result of its innovative design the ELLIPSE is capable of greater accuracy than a conventional sensor in measuring the actual DP signal. With the ELLIPSE, your measurement is absolutely precise and proportional to the actual flow rate.

Proven Superior

Extensive tests performed in recognized laboratories such as Alden Research, CEESI, NRC, etc., have demonstrated that the PRESO ELLIPSE exhibits accuracies ±0.75%. The ELLIPSE also achieved an impressive turndown ratio of 17:1. These flow meters are even FM approved for use as fire pump flow metering systems

Model SSM-Hydraulic Shape Design     (Ventrui-Nozzle)

The Preso Hydraulic pure static design utilizes the proven classical ASME and ISO standards for highest accuracy, predictability and repeatability. The flow conditioning generated by the unique hydraulic shape will provide an extremely stable signal in a wide range of flows.

Model LPL-Low-loss design (Short Form)

The Low-Loss Design with over 35 years of proven field performance in a wide varitey of applications provides reduced operating costs inherent with this design. Low installation costs due to short laying length and the wide range of sizes and material of construction, make the LPL the right choice for many flow applications.

Model VISSL-Insert Type Classic Design

The Insert Type Classical Style is designed to the same ASME and/or ISO standards as the standard model. Manufactured of all 304 stainless steel, the Venturi insert design offers the advantage of low installation and operation costs.

 

Model VISSM-Insert Type Hydraulic Shape Design

The Preso hydraulic pure static design is also available in the Model VISSM insert type. This unique hydraulic shape generates a flow condition that provides an extremely stable signal in a wide range of flows.

Model VILPL-Insert Type Low-Loss Design

The Preso low-loss design is also available in the stainless steel insert type. The all 304 stainless steel construction provides excellent corrosion and temperature resistance, while the short form style allows for added plant design flexibility.

 
B-Plus Valve

The B-Plus Balancing Valve features Preso's "Low-Loss" Venturi design, unsurpassed in the industry for low permanent pressure loss and low energy consumption. The B-Plus is accurate to ±2% and installs in any position with minimum upstream and downstream piping requirements. The B-Plus is available in 15 sizes from 1/2" (12.7mm) to 10" (254mm) with sweat, FNPT, flanged and grooved-end connections. Many options are available: pressure and temperature ports, quick-disconnect fittings, readout gages and transmitters.

FIRE PUMP SYSTEM
The Preso Fire Pump Flow Meter System is an FM-approved simple, precise and economical method of testing fire pump performance. The Preso system may be used instead of the typical hose valve header and hose method. Flow monitoring is easily achieved by allowing the operator to read the water flow directly in GPM or l/s. Two types of meters are available: fixed for pipe or wall mounting; and a self-contained portable unit which includes hoses, carrying case and bleed valves.

The single most important advantage for the system design engineer is the choice of primary elements offered by PRESO:

  • The Preso Venturi with its well known engineering principle, little or no maintenance and low permanent pressure loss; with minimum requirements for upstream (5 dia.) and downstream (2 dia.) straight pipe length.
  • The Preso Annular Element (Pitot tube) - also maintenance-free and with low permanent pressure loss, installed economically by insertion into the pipe at right angle to the flow. The system comes complete with weld-coupling, packing gland and instrument valves.
